How to Organize Email Folders

Body

How to move or organize email folders.

Prerequisites

  • Logged into the email client

  • Microsoft Outlook

Steps

  1. Creating and Ordering Folders
When you create a new email folder, it automatically appears in alphabetical order under its parent folder. If you want a custom order, simply drag and drop folders into your preferred arrangement.

  2. Moving a Folder
To move a folder, click and hold its name in the Folder list, then drag it to a new location. You can move folders within the same mailbox or between mailboxes and Outlook Data Files (.PST).

Another option is to right-click the folder, select Move Folder, and choose a new destination in the pop-up window.

  3. Restoring Alphabetical Order
If you’ve rearranged folders but want them back in alphabetical order, go to the Folder menu, then under Clean Up, select Show All Folders A to Z.
