Who This Article Is For

Gwinnett County employees who have been granted Mobile Hotspot access on their County-standard Samsung Galaxy phone.

Before You Begin

  • Not everyone has Mobile Hotspot enabled. If you do not see the Mobile Hotspot option or cannot turn it on, you will need to submit a request for Mobile Hotspot access/service.

  • Mobile Hotspot uses your phone’s cellular data connection (it may impact data usage and battery life).

How to find (view) your current Mobile Hotspot password

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Tap Connections.

  3. Tap Mobile Hotspot and Tethering.

  4. Tap Mobile Hotspot (tap the words, not just the toggle).

  5. Find the Password field to view the current hotspot password. (You may also see your hotspot network name on this screen.)

How to change your Mobile Hotspot password

  1. Open Settings > Connections > Mobile Hotspot and Tethering.

  2. Tap Mobile Hotspot.

  3. Tap Password.

  4. Enter a new password, then tap Save (or Apply, depending on your phone).

  5. Reconnect any devices using the hotspot (they will need the new password).

Optional: Connect using a QR code (no password typing)

  1. Open Settings > Connections > Mobile Hotspot and Tethering > Mobile Hotspot.

  2. Tap QR code and scan it from the other device to connect.
