Set Up GlobalProtect VPN on a County Workstation

On most County laptops, GlobalProtect is already installed and preconfigured—if your multi-factor authentication (MFA) is set up, you should be able to open GlobalProtect, approve the MFA prompt, and connect.

Who This Article Is For

Gwinnett County employees and contractors who have been approved for VPN access.

Before You Begin

  • VPN access approval on a County-issued device.

  • Microsoft Authenticator (or text-based MFA) set up on your account.

  • If you have not set up MFA yet, see the attached PDF for enrollment instructions.

 

How to Connect to GlobalProtect VPN

  1. In the bottom-right taskbar, click the up arrow to show hidden icons.

  2. Click the GlobalProtect icon (gray globe if disconnected).

  3. If prompted, confirm the portal address is gwinnettgov.gpcloudservice.com.

  4. Click Connect, then approve the MFA prompt on your phone.

  5. When connected, the GlobalProtect globe icon changes from gray to color.

 

How to Disconnect

  1. Click the GlobalProtect icon in the taskbar.

  2. Click Disconnect. The globe returns to gray.
