Summary

This article provides technical steps to correct GPS location issues on Panasonic Mobile Data Terminals (MDTs) by adjusting GPS connection settings in Panasonic PC Hub.

Who This Article Is For

Technical personnel or staff members comfortable adjusting application settings on Panasonic MDT devices.

Symptoms

  • GPS location is incorrect

  • Location freezes or does not update

  • Map or CAD applications display the wrong position

Cause

The GPS module may be using the wrong COM port configuration inside the Panasonic PC Hub utility. If the COM port is misconfigured, location data will not pass to the MDT.

Resolution Steps

  1. Open the Windows search bar and type Panasonic.

  2. Launch Panasonic PC Hub from the search results.

  3. In the left panel, select GPS.

  4. At the top of the GPS settings panel, locate the Connection section.

  5. Leave the toggle switch Off for now.

  6. Click the arrow next to the toggle to expand additional settings.

  7. Set the COM Port to 20.

  8. Turn the Connection toggle switch On.

  9. Close Panasonic PC Hub.

  10. Confirm whether the GPS location updates properly.

Known Limitations or Alternatives

  • If the COM port automatically reverts, additional troubleshooting may be required (drivers, Windows Location Services, or hardware checks).

  • Physical issues such as damaged antennas or docking problems may also result in incorrect GPS readings.

Next Steps if Issue Persists
