Symptoms
When attempting to control the remote computer, you may see this message:

Your partner's desktop is no longer accessible.
Probably you used a program that requires additional permissions. Please wait until your partner has granted these permissions.
Cause
This error occurs when TeamViewer cannot display or control the Windows desktop. Common causes include:

A program on the remote device triggered an administrator permissions prompt

TeamViewer briefly froze or lost access to the desktop session

The remote computer became partially unresponsive
How to Fix It
For the remote user:

Reboot the computer.

After rebooting, reopen TeamViewer and allow the connection.
For ITS staff:

Reconnect once the device is back online.
