Cause
This happens when the Immersive Reader view is enabled in Outlook. This feature is designed to improve readability, but it changes font styles and spacing automatically.
How to Fix It

Open Outlook and go to the View tab.

Look for the Immersive Reader section and click Immersive Reader to turn it off. This will return the reading pane to its normal appearance.
