Summary
This article provides step-by-step instructions for installing the ProVal application, including how to configure ODBC Data Sources and complete the setup from a network share.
Before You Begin
You must have local administrator rights on the machine.
You will need access to the County network path: \\jacfs01\Applications\SQL Manatron Shortcuts\SQL Manatron PROD_TA.
Instructions
Configure 32-bit ODBC Data Source

Open ODBC Data Sources (32-bit).

Select the System DSN tab and click Add.

Scroll down and choose SQL Server, then click Finish.

Enter the following:
Name: sgrmprod
Description: sgrmprod
Server: gctaxprod01

Click Next.
-
Select With SQL Server authentication using a login ID and password entered by the user.

Enter:
Login ID: sgrmprod
Password: 123mana

Click Next, then Test Connection. It should return a successful message.
Configure 64-bit ODBC Data Source

Repeat the above steps using ODBC Data Sources (64-bit).
Install ProVal Application

Browse to \\jacfs01\Applications\SQL Manatron Shortcuts\SQL Manatron PROD_TA.

Copy the entire SQL Manatron PROD_TA folder to the desktop.

Open the copied folder and navigate to:
9.1.25 > 9.1.25 > 9.1.25.124

Run the file: ProValSetup-9.1.25.

Accept all defaults during installation.
If prompted for two name fields, enter Gwinnett County in both.

If the 2013 Microsoft C++ Redistributable install fails, you may ignore the error.
Launch the Application

After installation completes, return to the SQL Manatron PROD_TA folder.

Launch the shortcut named: ProValPlus SQLProd_9_1 (64bit).

Click Yes if prompted to allow changes.

The login prompt will appear and ProVal will open.
Additional Notes
This application is typically used by Department of Financial Services staff.
If the test connection fails during ODBC setup, confirm that network connectivity and server name are correct.
