Employee Termination (Offboarding / Remove all Access)

Request the removal of all IT access for an employee or vendor who is no longer with the County or no longer requires access.

Important – Permanent Terminations Only

This service is only for permanent employee separations from Gwinnett County Government. Submitting this request will result in the removal of all accounts and access for the employee.

  • If the employee is transferring to another department, do not use this form. The receiving department must submit the Onboard a Transfer Employee request.

  • If you are unsure which process applies, please contact the ITS Service Desk before proceeding.

Description and Details

This request facilitates the secure and timely removal of access to County systems and services for former employees or vendors. The process includes disabling user accounts (e.g., Active Directory, email, application access), reclaiming County-issued hardware, and terminating any remote access (e.g., VPN, VDI). It is essential to submit this request as soon as separation is confirmed to prevent unauthorized access.

Please include the following in your request (if known):

  • Full name of the user

  • User ID or email address

  • Department

  • Last working day

  • Whether any equipment needs to be retrieved

  • Any shared accounts the user had access to

Who Can Submit This Request

Supervisors, Managers, or designated HR personnel.

Required Approvals

Additional approvals may be required if deemed necessary. 

Fulfillment Time Frame

1–2 business days for standard requests.
Urgent terminations (e.g., involuntary separation) should be marked as priority and will be addressed immediately upon receipt. It is strongly recommended that you call the Service Desk if an immediate change is required.
