What Is Google Chrome?
Google Chrome is a web browser developed by Google. While widely used across many organizations, it is not officially supported by Gwinnett County Government IT.
County IT recommends that all employees use Microsoft Edge for accessing internal systems, web applications, and external sites. Edge is the County's default and supported browser, offering better compatibility with enterprise applications and security controls.
Why Edge Is Recommended
Fully supported by County IT teams
Optimized for County systems like My GCHub (ESS), TeamDynamix, and Microsoft 365
Same core engine as Chrome (Chromium), but with better enterprise security features
What If I Already Use Chrome?
If you’re using Google Chrome and encounter issues accessing County systems, the first step is to try the same task in Microsoft Edge. Most systems are tested and supported only in Edge.
The IT Service Desk does not provide support for issues that occur only in Chrome.
