What Is Ivanti Secure Client?

Ivanti Secure Client is a secure remote access application used by Gwinnett County employees to connect to State of Georgia systems that require a secure VPN connection. It is most commonly used for access to Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) systems, but may also be required by other State agencies.

You may hear it referred to as “Pulse Secure.” Pulse Secure was the previous name of this software before it was rebranded to Ivanti.

Ivanti Secure Client does not provide access to Gwinnett County systems. It is only used when a State agency requires it for connectivity.

Who Uses This Software?

Ivanti Secure Client is used by a limited number of County employees whose job responsibilities require access to State-managed systems, including GBI systems. This typically includes:

  • Law enforcement personnel

  • Investigators

  • Public safety staff

  • Other employees working directly with State agencies

Most County employees will never need Ivanti Secure Client.

How Do I Get This Software?

Ivanti Secure Client is provided to employees who are required by a State of Georgia agency to use it for system access.

If you have been instructed by a State agency to use Ivanti Secure Client, submit a request through the IT Service Desk and include:

  • The name of the State agency

  • The specific system you are accessing

  • Any instructions or documentation provided by the State

All access approvals, credentials, and permissions are managed directly by the State agency. Gwinnett County does not create or manage State accounts.

Training & Help

  • Contact the IT Service Desk for assistance with installation and basic connectivity troubleshooting.

  • For login issues, permissions, or account problems, you will be directed to the appropriate State agency support team.
