If Windows Defender is detecting a threat, or if you believe you're experiencing another type of cybersecurity event, do not use this form! Instead, call the Service Desk immediately at 770.822.8915.
Windows Defender is required and automatically deployed on all County-issued Windows devices (PCs, laptops, servers, tablets) as well as Android and Apple mobile devices. It provides real-time protection against malware, viruses, ransomware, and other security threats.
Use this request to report problems such as:

Error messages from Windows Defender

Concerns about threats or quarantined files

Problems with scans or updates

Alerts that you do not understand
The request form will ask you to specify the type of device (PC, laptop, tablet, or mobile) so ITS can route your issue appropriately.
Who Can Submit This Request?
Any Gwinnett County employee with a County-issued device.
Required Approvals
None.
Fulfillment Time Frame
Typically 1–3 business days, depending on severity of the issue. Critical security alerts may be prioritized immediately.
