Unity Voicemail: Setup, Access, and Standard Menu Code Reference

This guide explains how to enroll in and use the Unity Voicemail System. Learn how to set up your greeting, change your PIN, listen to messages, and use common voicemail menu codes.

Who This Article Is For

All Gwinnett County employees with a desk phone using the Unity Voicemail System.

Before You Begin

  • Enroll before first use by recording your name, setting your greeting, and choosing a personal PIN.

  • Default PIN: 112233 (you will be prompted to change this during enrollment).

  • Listen carefully to the voice prompts during setup.

How to Access Your Voicemail

 

From Your Desk Phone

  1. Press the MESSAGE button.

  2. Enter your PIN, then press #.

 

From Another County Desk Phone

  1. Press the MESSAGE button.

  2. When Unity answers, press *.

  3. Enter your extension number, then press #.

  4. Enter your PIN, then press #.

 

From a Non-County Phone

  1. Dial 770.513.5699.

  2. When Unity answers, press *.

  3. Enter your extension number, then press #.

  4. Enter your PIN, then press #.

Common Voicemail Menu Options

 

While Listening to a Message

  • 1 – Restart message

  • 2 – Save message

  • 3 – Delete message

  • 4 – Slow playback

  • 6 – Speed playback

  • 7 – Rewind 3 seconds

  • 8 – Pause/Resume

  • 9 – Fast forward 3 seconds

  • # – Jump to end

 

After Hearing a Message

  • 1 – Repeat message

  • 2 – Save message

  • 3 – Delete message

  • 4 – Reply

  • 5 – Forward message

Managing Your Voicemail Settings

 

Change Your PIN

  • Press 4, then 3, then 1.

  • Enter your new PIN twice, pressing # after each entry.

 

Change Your Recorded Name

  • Press 4, then 3, then 2, then follow the prompts.

 

Change Your Greeting

  • Press 4, then 1 to hear your current greeting.

  • Options:

  • 1 – Re-record greeting

  • 2 – Turn alternate greeting on/off

  • 3 – Record a different greeting

  • 4 – Hear all greetings

Greeting Types

Type Description
Alternate Overrides all other greetings.
Busy Plays when your phone is busy.
Internal Plays for internal calls when unanswered.
Closed Plays during closed hours.
Standard Default greeting unless overridden.

Other Useful Features

  • Skip someone’s greeting: Press # during playback to go straight to recording your message.

  • Call directly to voicemail: Dial * plus the extension number.

  • For help at any time: Press 0.
