ITS Standards Exception - Disable Screen Lockout

Tags Exception

Request an exception to modify or disable the standard screen lock timeout setting on a County-managed device.

Description and Details

County policy enforces a standard screen lock timeout to reduce the risk of unauthorized access to unattended workstations. In specific business or operational scenarios, longer timeout durations or temporary screen lock disabling may be appropriate.

This request allows employees to propose a modification to the screen lock policy for a particular workstation or use case. The request must clearly explain why the standard timeout is disruptive or insufficient for the work being performed.

Exceptions may be granted temporarily or for specific job functions and are subject to review by ITS Information Security.
