Request an exception to whitelist a specific email address or domain that is currently blocked, flagged, or filtered by County email systems.

Description and Details

The County’s email system includes filters and security tools to block potentially malicious or unwanted email traffic. In some cases, legitimate emails or domains may be unintentionally blocked or marked as spam.

This request allows employees to propose the whitelisting of a specific email address or entire domain to ensure successful delivery of important messages. Each request must include a valid business reason, the source address or domain, and any known issues encountered (e.g., blocked messages, missing attachments).

All requests are reviewed by ITS Information Security for risk, origin, and compatibility with County policies. Approval is not guaranteed.

Who Can Submit This Request?

Any Gwinnett County employee with a valid business or technical justification.

Required Approvals

  • Manager approval

  • ITS Information Security

Fulfillment Time Frame

Within one business day following manager approval. Additional time may be required if external coordination or vendor consultation is needed.
