Request an exception to whitelist a specific website or URL that is currently blocked or restricted by the County’s web filtering system.
Description and Details
The County uses web filtering technology to restrict access to unsafe, inappropriate, or unauthorized websites. Occasionally, a legitimate website may be blocked due to its content category, source reputation, or embedded content.
This request allows employees to ask for a specific web page or URL to be whitelisted for access. Requests may apply to an individual user or be made available to all County employees, depending on the justification and use case.
A valid business reason is required, and all requests are reviewed by ITS Information Security for risk and appropriateness. Some requests may be approved only with additional restrictions or limited access scopes.
Who Can Submit This Request?
Any Gwinnett County employee with a valid business or technical justification.

Fulfillment Time Frame
Within one business day following manager approval. More time may be needed if the site is unfamiliar or requires further risk analysis.
