What Is ArcGIS?
ArcGIS is a suite of GIS (Geographic Information System) software developed by Esri for mapping, spatial analysis, and data management. It includes two desktop clients:
ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap): The original 32‑bit application used for traditional mapping and spatial analysis. Support is being phased out by Esri and will end in 2026.
ArcGIS Pro: The modern, 64‑bit application with a ribbon-based interface, advanced 2D/3D mapping, and improved integration with ArcGIS Online and other Esri services.

ArcGIS is used by GIS professionals, planners, engineers, and analysts throughout the County to work with geographic data and produce spatial analysis and visualizations.

How Do I Get This Software?
ArcGIS access is managed by the GIS team. If you need ArcMap or ArcGIS Pro installed or updated, please submit a request through the IT Service Desk.
