What Is Everbridge?

Everbridge is an emergency notification platform used by Gwinnett County IT to send critical alerts to County managers and department heads during major IT outages.

This system is only used when normal communication channels—such as email or Microsoft Teams—are unavailable. Alerts are delivered via SMS and push notification (if the recipient has the Everbridge app installed).

Who Receives Everbridge Alerts?

Everbridge alerts are sent to managers, department heads, and executive-level staff. The alert list is maintained internally and used only for major IT disruptions.

When Is It Used?

  • After-hours emergencies

  • Total internet outages or County-wide network failure

  • Email systems or communication platforms are unavailable

Common Questions

Everbridge is not used for general announcements, public messaging, or department-specific updates. You do not need to sign in, configure anything, or request changes unless asked by IT.
