Request New VPN Access

Submit a request to set up VPN access through the County’s GlobalProtect platform. VPN access is required to securely connect to internal County systems from remote locations.

Description and Details

This service allows County employees, contractors, and vendors to request VPN access using the GlobalProtect VPN client. VPN is required when connecting to internal resources from outside the County network, including while working remotely or providing vendor support.

VPN access may be provisioned for:

  • Gwinnett County employees and contractors who already have a County-issued account

  • External vendors or partners who require remote access for support, maintenance, or implementation

Access is restricted based on role and technical need. Vendor requests require additional review by ITS Information Security.

Who Can Submit This Request?

Any County employee or sponsor requesting access for themselves, a contractor, or a vendor.

Required Approvals

Approvals vary based on the type of user. Individual service offerings include detailed approval requirements.

Fulfillment Time Frame

Most VPN access requests are fulfilled within 1–3 business days after all required approvals are received.
