Description and Details

Use this service when an MDT is not functioning properly. MDTs are primarily used by Police, Sheriff, Animal Welfare, and Code Enforcement. Common issues include:

  • Hardware failures (device will not power on, damaged screen, keyboard/touchpad issues, battery or charging problems)

  • GPS failures (location not updating, inaccurate routing, unit stuck at last known position)

  • Connectivity problems (cellular, Wi-Fi, NetMotion VPN not connecting or frequently dropping)

  • Docking station or vehicle cradle issues (not charging, intermittent power, loose wiring)

  • General system performance issues such as freezing, slow response, or random restarts

Who Can Submit This Request?

Public Safety personnel (Police, Sheriff, Animal Welfare, Code Enforcement) and authorized ITS staff.

Required Approvals

None.

Fulfillment Time Frame

The objective is to return the MDT to operational status within 8 hours of receiving the request, when possible. Response times may vary depending on device location, vehicle accessibility, and whether additional Public Safety teams must assist with hardware repairs.
